What Has Sunbeam Taught Me?

What Has Sunbeam Taught Me?

A rather simple question. But the answer, I’m afraid, isn’t quite that simple. On contrary, my answer is a complicated one, rather embellished with the frills & thrills of school life. On the face value, it is quite clear. Sunbeam has taught me the syllabi of grades III-XII (during which I studied there). In a very competent manner, I must add – With its plethora of seasoned faculty, state-of-art classrooms & laboratories smart classes, LadyHawk labs et al. But what complicates the answer is that Sunbeam didn’t stop there. It went the extra mile. It fashioned a perspicacious, intrepid, urbane & scintillating young man from the budding, bubbling, childish tyro it was given.

You ask me, how did Sunbeam do it?

I can’t pinpoint to any specific class or process that attributed to the result but I guess it was the holistic and cumulative effect of my exhilarating experience at Sunbeam. Not exaggerating, Sunbeam has transformed me completely with its omnibus of events & happenings. It has enabled me to appreciate the joie de vivre that everyday life provides us. It has taught me to be equable & placid under high-pressure situations. It has made me fearless-devoid of stage fright – by putting me on stage consistently to speak, debate, sing, dance, act, quiz and whatnot. It has taught me to be broad-minded, teaching by example with its diverse crowd – gleaming of inclusivity. It has taught me to be a socially responsible citizen. It has taught me to be magnanimous & generous through the Joy of Giving’ month organized every year. It has honed my social and interpersonal skills. It has taught me to be a strong & fair leader by inducting me as the School Pupil Leader. It has taught me camaraderie and sportsmanship through the IHA Games. It has taught me loyalty & competitive spirit through the Inter-House Activities. It has taught me to brave on, to be stoic, especially in the face of adversity. It had made me appreciate knowledge. It has enabled me to constantly quench the never-ending thirst for knowing more. Most importantly, it has taught me to never stop learning because life never stops teaching. Finally, I would like to say that Sunbeam was a major player in making me who I am.
